I remember when I first became an animal activist. On a cold day in November, a big white stray cat came into my life. He was but a shadow of his current self then — dirty, emaciated, ears black with ear mites — hiding under the bushes near my home. One look, and I knew I had to do something to help.

As soon as I did, my love was returned to me with interest. Animal protection has been my passion ever since. In fact, I’ve found that the more I do to help animals, the happier I feel — it's the best way I've found for coping with all the many problems in this world.
